Part 2: Going Deeper—Finding the Root of the Webs
After a while, I noticed something interesting. I was getting better at removing the spider webs—quicker, calmer, and even a bit more consistent. But then another thought came to me: it’s not only about removing the webs, it’s also about noticing the spider that keeps making them.
And that’s exactly how the Lord Jesus, through the help of the Holy Spirit, works with us. Once we learn to sweep away negative thoughts, He lovingly begins to point us to something deeper—the root of those thoughts and patterns.
Just like the spider quietly returns to spin another web, old negative mindsets and lies try to creep back into our lives. But the good news is: we don’t face them alone.
This process takes time. First, we need to become aware of what’s happening. Then, we actively work on replacing those thoughts with God’s truth. And finally, step by step, we can go deeper and deal with the root cause.
But remember this: we never do it in our own strength. It’s always with the help of our Lord Jesus Christ. With Him, we don’t just clean the surface—we find healing and freedom at the root.
A Closing Prayer
Lord Jesus, thank You for not only helping me clear away the surface but also for guiding me to the deeper roots of my thoughts. Give me the courage to face what’s hidden, the wisdom to recognize it, and the strength to overcome it with Your truth. Help me never to walk this journey alone, but always with You by my side. Amen.
Reflection Prompt
💭 Take a quiet moment to reflect:
What recurring “webs” keep showing up in your thoughts?
Can you trace them back to a deeper root or belief?
How can you invite Jesus to help you deal with it at the source?
